Week - 10


Art Part:

Light and renewed rock textures:

For the light we made the arena brighter and lowers the performance from the light.

For the rocks we reworked the texture to be more stylized and to fit the ground texture a bit more.


Particles:

We added some debris rocks to fill up the arena more a little bit. This also adds a better feeling that you are underground.

We also made a debris particle for if the ship will hit a rock, this gives a clear visualization that the player hit a rock.

- We also made particles for the bullet when they collide with a surface. Because enemies also shoot laser bullets I wanted to make some difference between them. It's not totally different but they clearly have animation differences.

- Like you have seen with the falling rocks we made some environment particles just to make the level a bit more alive. like here we made some simple fireflies to fly around the plants.

- We also have a shield effect now ready to be used.


Technical Part:

We also added FOV based on speed and added a camera shake on impact.


All sounds are now added into the game. Almost each and every enemy, pickup and the spaceship have a different sound effect.

All visual effects are also into the game but are still being tweaked in some degree.


Wave system:

The wave system is into the game and fully operational. We still have a problem with the aerial enemies flying out of the map, but that will be fixed next week. The waves also get harder and harder with more enemies that spawn each wave. 


Pick-ups:

All the pickups have been implemented. These pickups have a different sound effect when picked up. The pickups have a 10% chance of dropping when you kill an aerial enemy and are also randomly chosen.


UI:

The UI which includes the minimap, hit mark, the end screen, the begin screen (main menu) and the leaderboard are fully operational and ready to be used. You can now climb up the leaderboard to compete with your fellow friends. The minimap can be used to see where the enemies are across the map. These are indicated by little red dots.
